Does anyone have a list of every single tank, plane, and ship involved in the Lend-Lease Act?[?] Yes,I have been looking, but no luck so far.[sigh] Thank you, in advance to all that look for the list.
National Archieves.
The National Archives Website had no list or anything that involved the vehicles. So as far as I can tell I’m back to square one. [

HH is probably correct in the assessment of the National Archives being the only single location where such broad and diverse information will be available. However, it will not be available online. While the archives mantain the physical paperwork and have duplicated a lot of stuff to microfishe or digital media, most of it is not accessible via the web and must be viewed at the National Archives proper.
IMO, the information you are seeking is simply too vast to be available on a single website. It could easily take several volumes of hardcover books just to print the thousands - perhaps tens of thousands - of manifests, for every ship tranferring cargo containing vehicles, planes, etc, between the U.S. and every foreign country to which we sent military aid. Of course, that assumes someone also eliminates all the ships carrying Lend-Lease equipment which sank before reaching their destination. It would be far easier to whittle-down your “search criteria” by limiting your request to individual countries, equipment types, or time frames.
I would personally love to see a book (or books) listing all the Lend-Lease transfers made during the war, but suspect I won’t find it.
[:)]Well I’d just like to say thanks to those who looked…it seems the Lend-Lease is a dead end so you can forget about trying to find anything.
I hope my previous post was not interpreted as such. I have to respectfully disagree that “Lend-Lease is a dead end so you can forget about trying to find anything.”
There are a plethera of online resources for finding information about the Lend-Lease Act itself and much of the equipment transferred between the various allied nations. Even though there’s no single online site, it shouldn’t discourage someone from doing a little “Sherlock Holmes” work if they’re interested in the subject or want to find something specific.
A couple of years ago, I wanted to find information on U.S. equipment sent to Russia during a certain time period. While all of the bookmarks from my searches are long gone, I think I had to tie together a chain of something like five different websites before I had the information I was trying to find. In order to “build” the chain of five websites, I probably visited more than 50 other sites, only to discover that they weren’t going to help me. IIRC, the first site was one that simply listed departing convoy numbers during 1942, but nothing about cargo. Another site listed individual ships in some specific convoys, but again, nothing about cargo beyond generalities. Another site was dedicated to a specific ship that survived the entire war and listed all of it’s voyages and all of the cargo it shipped.
I hope this clarifies my experience and wish you good luck in your search. Keep at it…you may come across some very interesting information.
You can also search through places where the material transitioned. I know that many of the aircraft going to Russia transited through Malmstrom AFB MT their museum has documentation of it in their archieves.
The manufacturers of the equipment would also have kept historical information about what they produced for lend lease contracts. You have a pilethora of avenues to investigate…the research might be fun…do I sense a book in the making?
You could try your local library. Im sure you’ll be able to dig up a bit of info their. Your local library can also point you in other directions to obtain this information. It’s just a matter of putting forth the effort if your serious about collecting this info. [:)]
Not sure if this will help, but here goes…
http://lend-lease.airforce.ru/english/articles/geust/aircraft_deliveries.htm
http://www.theeasternfront.co.uk/lendlease.htm – This one seems pretty good.
There is plenty more out there, I googled, “vehicles of the lend-lease act” vehicles included inthe lend-lease act" …I’m sure there is another variation or 2 that would work.
