Leaving it up to a vote...what should I build for the group build?

Fellow armor buffs,

I’m planning to join the “War in the Desert-African Campaign” group build but not sure what to build[%-)]. I’m leaving it up to a vote by my peers. Go see my post in GB…thanks for helping decide my fate[X-)], I m mean future[;)].

One vote for the StuG G Early. I love StuGs.

a 1/2 scale M3 Stuart using a 20mm grenade launcher for the main gun and ruger 10/22 rifles for the 30 cal then when done deliver to me please…[:-^]

ok, I will say a Panerkampfwagen dos hull down in a nice wadi then you build a Spitfire or a P 40 straffing it and you have 2 badges in one diorama[^]

Go with something used by the Italians. We rarely see examples like that.

dostacos,

Thanks for ideas, I do have it narrowed down to a 2-1/2 ton GMC, Stug III Ausf G Early, or (2) trucks. In GB I gave the pro’s & cons for each. Go take a read…it’s kinda fun!

I’d think twice about the StuG…they were extremely rare in N Africa…a few C (?) modles made it…and later in Tunisia when the Germans were getting tossed out, some G’s…very little pic refs on these…

[#ditto] Agreed with above for the same reasons. Two trucks sounds like a good one, either German or Brit, or both, with one being captured and impressed into the opposite army’s service. Deuce and 1/2’s would just be for the same time period as the StGIII, although far more pics available.

How about one of the new kits from Academy - M7 Priest or M3 Lee ? The M7 looks pretty solid except for the fact that the rear engine deck isn’t consistent with the overall early-mid version depicted by the kit. I just purchased the M7 from my favorite LHO, and like what I see inside the box.

Plastic_ Cross,

I have it narrowed down to three vehicles, see the pros and cons in my post in North Africa Campaign GB…it’s a fun read, go vote there!

[tup] You got it.

Thanks,
