anyone have a spare 1/72 sheet of these they would want to sell?
Hello Curtis-Remington,
You actually can get a set of standard markings for the CF-18 from leading edge if you get one of the special sets, like set 72.56 2006 demo jet. It actually has markings for two jets: the “special” and a standard jet. Here is a link:http://lemdecal.com/72.056%20page.html That is direct link to leading edge models itself. I hope that this helps
ah the new set. other good sets i’ve found are the arrow graphics sets with 421, 409, 436 and other deact squadrons on it, but they do not have stencils.
Those do not include the standard markings that usually appears on the tail fins. Do they?
the lem set has them for 433 and 425 and the two sheets from arrow have all of them form the 80’s and early 90’s plus the kill markings from desert storm and the old number styles.
Hello Yann,
The set is actually markings for two aircraft, the special and another for an aircraft from the 410, with the Maple flag fin flash, aircraft #, and squad markings. I have a set in 1/32. Like Curtis-Remington, I was looking for CF-18 standard markings from LEM, and I finally contacted Uncle Rick Chin of Uncle Bill’s Hobbies, and he told me that the 2005 and 2006 special sets all have the standard markings. Problem is, its just for one squadron.
Mr. Curtis-Remington, Thanks for the information on the Arrow Graphics decals. I have been looking for manufacturers of Canadian Decals. What squadron are you looking to use for your CF-18?
i’m doing builds of all of our hornet squadrons. currently i have a set of the set i’m looking for but need more for the squadrons. right now i’m building a cf-188b of 410 squadron from the first delivery without the lex fences. the squadrons we have/had with hornets are: 409,410, 416, 421, 425, 433, 436, 441, and aete.
Good luck to you sir in your endeavour, That is a formidable one. I wish that some more decal manufacturerers would pick up on the CAF aircraft. Its really hard and frustrating to find Canadian subjects. I wish that I would I will keep an eye out, and let you know if any come up for those squadrons.
I got to see a 410 Cf-188B birds at a recent airshow. A fine airplane, and the pilots were wonderful gentlemen to talk to.
A fine gentleman that I had the privilege of doing business with recently was Uncle Rick Chin of Uncle Bill’s Hobby. I don’t know if you are familiar with him, but he helped me find some out-of-production sheets. I could give you contact information, if you are interested.
Good Luck!
