Late War Luftwaffe Hanger

Early today my new airplane hanger was finished, I wanted to build this hanger so I could place it in the background of my pictures to help make them look realistic.
Next I will add ground crew and some AA weapons, and maybe a few damaged or crashed airplanes as well.

Some pics of the new hanger…

joe

WOW that is awesome. You do some great work.

Great work What Scale?

looks great fella! congrats!

Thanks Rick, Chris, joe, thundergod, and Vautour!

That hanger was not that hard to build, I had difficulty in finding pictures and good information about German hangers. No two hangers were alike, it seems like they were always very different from one another.
The scale is 1/72…sort of.[:)]

Thanks for the kind words mandrake!

Matrixone

Wow!!!
Very realistic… [;)]

Thanks panther18!

With the hanger in the background it really helps that 1/48 scale Bf 109 G-10 look more realistic.

I have a couple more pics I will post when I get off work.

I always like the look of your photos on that base. And the hangar makes them look even better. With a ground crew it will look great.

Nice looking hangar and great pictures. Thanx for sharing.

[bow] Excellent work!! [bow]

Daniel, falcon039, gunny, Vintage Aircraft, frosty, and norite, thank you all!
Right now on my work table are figure sets in both 1/72 and 1/48 scales that are in the process of being painted, when these are finished they will bring some much needed ‘‘life’’ to my pictures.

Frosty girl, the hanger is scratchbuilt using ‘‘TLAR’’ plans based on photos in my books on late war Luftwaffe aircraft. The hardest part of building this hanger was getting good pictures and information about wartime German hangers, there are no books on German airfield buildings that I am aware of.

My next model is going to be the old Monogram Do 335 kit, might get started on it this weekend.
