late war Benham class USS Ellet?

Hello,

I’d like to build a 1:700 USS Ellet as it would have looked at Guadalcanal. I know Midship Models makes the Benham and Stack, but both are pre-war examples, and I haven’t read many reviews on these kits that said great things.

Would this be a very difficult conversion?

Are these kits really that difficult to work with?

Is Midship planning a late war example of a Benham class destroyer?

Could this be a good project for someone who doesn’t have a bunch of scratchbuilding/kitbashing experience?

I hope this isn’t too many questions. I’d really appreciate the help from some more experienced modelers.
