Need an aftermarket photoetch set that has the steel/wire mesh side armor skirts. No zimmerit needed. thanks for your help.[:)]

I did a search at Greatmodels and they didn’t have much. They had an Eduard set for the DML for about $11.65 and a Royal Model set for $36.95 for an unspecified kit. Worth more the kit you’re probably building.

Over at SB Model’s site the Royal Models sets RM3693 and 364 (Pts 1 +2 of the mesh detailling set) are listed as being for the Dragon kit.

as much as the kit costs but probably pretty nice.

I recently bought this kit as well (Dragon Late Pz IV J). How far off is the kit supplied parts?

Their website is only about 80-90% efficient (maybe). They have entire lines that are unlisted in their main categories like Xtracolor paint. There are probably some hidden gems in there if someone had loads of free time to look.

I built that model a looong time ago, infact it was my first one when I came back to the hobby. It builds up great to be honest with you, and I didn’t see any issues with it according to Squadron’s “Panzer IV in Action” book that I used as reference. Heck, I even used the kit supplied Thoma sheilds. They were a bit tough to build, but looked like mesh sheilds to me! People are way too over hyped about PE parts. I’ve found that alot of times the PE is worse than the kit parts. Now this is comming from a guy who doesn’t care if the parts are off by 1mm or two.
