5 years ain’t to bad actually. I was expecting longer than that. I would rather they took their time and did it right than try to rush it and mess it up.

Tim: the Air Force Museum said it would take 10-years to restore Memphis Belle!

I can tell you from experience that it will take longer than that. I’m presently working on a restoration crew of a TBM Avenger that was in flying condition when we got it and three years later we are almost done. Parts will have to be scrounged, made, begged, and borrowed- with this aircraft being so rare I would go more for the 10 years. However, since this aircraft will be display only that will be an important factor- I will be following this one with interest.
