Academy has re-released the 1/48 scale F-117A Nighthawk with the beautiful stars and stripes decals for the bottom of the fuselage. I missed it the first time it was released and bought one this week. I will build it when my wife is fully recovered from surgery and I get back into my hobby room. Has anyone built this model? I have mixed feelings about how to build it. I usually build models with the landing gear down but that would spoil the looks of the stars and stripes. If I build it with the landing gear up how would I display it? Any advice would be appreciated.
Gordon I’m thinking a stained and clear coated wooden base with a acrylic plastic rod as a support. and the plane in a climbing, banking turn. Somehow the rod will need to go up the exhaust. And the base you can have something “Last Flight” and the day and place it happened under the clear coat.
