Sorry if this question has been asked before but I am contemplating a build and I need help. Does any one know if a Skycraine has ever been issued in a 1:35 scale? 1:48 would be fine but would rather have a 35.
I only know about Revell’s 1/72 kit. it comes with a large caravan (or maybe an ark) underneath. Is’nt it big enough in 1/72? it’s quite large you know…
I want to put in in a dio getting ready to haul a 105 out to a fire base. The 105 I have is 1:35. I guess I’ll have to get one in 1:72. Man that’s gonna be a small cannon.
IIRC, there’s a 105, or at least a similar piece of artillery, in the Revell kit.

Correct, the only CH-54 was Revell’s 1/72 and someone else’s 1/100, maybe Tamiya. Revell’s comes with a 105rel is anboy an inch and a half and the trailing arms abou an inch and 3/4 for a tolal lenght of about 2 1/4 inches.

Al’s right, the CH-54 can only be found in 1/72nd scale. A friend over in France, Philippe Dognon, recently scratched a 1/48 Tarhe, and everyone was hoping maybe some company would be inspired to produce one in a large scale, but haven’t heard of any.

That is an amazing amount of detail! The improvised aircraft “bomb cradle” made of angle iron not to mention the engine and rotor detail. Beautiful work! Thanks for posting the picture. Hopefully the CH-46 will be a success and others will follow!

Thanks for the link! Totally amazing! A “Master Artist and Craftsman”! The “in process” build really shows how much work had to go into it. He should be making “prototypes” for the model manufacturer’s! He makes my little scratchbuilding look like “childs” play. Reminds me of a good friend who built armor. Those Crane engines look like they were machine turned, and the way it was dressed out!!! He obviously has access to a great number of aftermarket line fittings, boltheads, etc., really nice.
I like In-Progress coverage of extreme builds.
