Who makes a relatively large scale B-17 in plastic? I have some ideas for motorized turrents and such and I’d like to find the largest available styrene kit.

Monogram 1/48
and panda says there will be a 1/32 one soon

Panda annonced one in 1/32, but they seem to have sorta disappeared, so I wouldn’t grow old waiting for it. Only other is the 1/48 Revell/Monogram.
If you wanna go to vacuform, I think Combat Models does one in 1/32. Their stuff is pretty much just basic shapes, though.
If you want a tried and tested one, go for the Monogram B-17G or F, if you really want a large scale, you’ll have to wait for the panda offering in 1/32. I’m seriously tempted by it, but i just don’t have the space for a 1/32 bomber! [:D] How are you going to motorize the turrets, or is this a surprise?
Combat does (or did) make a vac in 1/32. Other than that, Guillows makes a balsa kit in 1/32 (or larger) that is pretty accurate but you would have to either skin it with thin plastic or just build as is.
My LHS said the Panda kit was scheduled very soon so I am looking for it. Shivering at what the cost might be for it. Anyone know what the quality of Panda kits are? Good or bad?
If you’re waiting on Panda to come out with that kit (or the 1/35th Chinook), you will probally be better off pulling your hair out. I have yet to see anything saying whether it is coming out or not. [banghead][banghead] Why do they torture us so much.
Do not go with the Revell B-17F it has a good outline, but the detail on it is horrible, and there virtully is none. Go with the Monogram B-17G, and if you want you can use the Revell kit to turn it into an F. But good luk to you.
As for Panda quality, I only have their F-35 kit. The quality of the kit is high, but the accuracy to the prototype is not.
