lancaster update pics.

My airfix lanc is starting to take shape, just working on the glass work, hence part of the window missing, still working on the wheel wells aswell thats why the undercarrage is missing. To view: http://www.ww2aircraft.blogspot.com
decals are probably going to be of ED888 haven’t decided yet… hope you enjoy, will post with more pics’ as i progress![:)]

Yow !

There’s a whole lotta modlin’ goin on !

The Lanc is really nice, and from what I can see the interior detail looks really good too. How is the airfix detail there ? Did you do any scratch improvements ?

Being a non-airbrush guy myself - I’ve also been experimenting with ways to get a fuzzy edge. Looks like you’ve got a good method there. Do you just use the two different colors that are coming together ? I’ve been trying to mix an intermediate color ~50/50 mix of the two colors. I paint a thin line of the intermediate color and then work the two 100% colors into it. It’s coming along, but I’m not really satisfied with it yet.

The heavies are really impressive, and I really loved the weathering jobs you did on the Spit and the Corsair - very nice !

The Lysander is such a cool looking plane. I’ll have to do one someday, but my rate is pretty slow.

Nice job and a very nice collection.

Bossman. The airfix detail is always bad… So yep, i’ve scratch built alot of the detail.
The way i get my feathered edge is by using a piece of foam, and dab it like a dry brush along the join mark, works for me every time.
Thanks for the compliments,

VERY impressive charlotte!! [:)] Thanks for the peek!

Take care,
Frank

Great work on the Lanc, Alan.
Now about the soft edges… didn’t the RAF use rubber mats to mask ? That would give a hard demarcation line.
I like the result anyway… now… maybe a Dambuster to join in with the big boys ???

Nice, very nice…I have a Revell 1/72 DamBuster on the bench now…everything else is either getting done or set aside for this one. I get the feeling I have a new favorite WW2 bomber…what were your reference resources?

Impressive work Charlotte. I enjoyed the pictures of your Halifax as well. I’ve got the Halifax in my stable but need to add a Lanc. I look forward to seeing the finished product! [tup]

Nice build! I can’t believe you did that without an AB. And, Alan, ummm why exactly is your user name charlotte?

nice collection of aircraft you have there …

cheers mike

I love that british Dakota. What scale is that? And how did you mask the windows? I’m building the same one and soon I hope it will be done.

Hi, I’ve just changed my user name to ww2boy co’z people like tankmaster7 were starting to wonder… i’m sure you all have heard the story…
Jaysun, that dakota is 1/72, the italeri kit. the windows question, what i did was paint the outside of the aircraft then put the windows in, which makes it alot easier. i also painted around the outside of the clear parts, to stop that odd light reflection thing happening. then glued the 2 halfs of the plane together, bogged up the seams and then painted over the bog.
Thanks for all the kind words.
