[:)][:)]This is my Lancaster of the 617 squadron of Scampton airfield U.K
It was modified to take place on the bombing raid of the dams and industrial complex at the Ruhr Valley.
Two nasty things-
The background is horrible, and the ambulance is german, but it´s going to be replace by a Austin.Every thing is in 1/72 scale.
Hope you like it,it was my first dio .
Nice build and a good dio, nicely laid out, the Lancaster had the letter ‘G’ with their serial number which ment the aircraft where guarded, 24 hours which ment they where classed as secret, on the night of the raid the ‘G’ was painted out.
great pics thanks for sharing. thats the revell kit isn’t it?. i’m building one at the moment and its a real bear of a kit to make look good. i’ll post pics of mine here when its done. a dio may be on the cards for this one too.

GREAT diorama! And great pix! I have the 1:48 Tamiya Lanc kit up in the closet, and have been too chicken to attempt the build. I had thought to do the bouncing bomb conversion, as well, but again, I’m scared to mess up an expensive kit!
Nice job on the Lancaster. I’ve started mine in 48th scale with Tamiya’s Dambuster Lanc been working on it slowly for more than a year now. Mostly because of a move packing things away. And rescribing the fuselage is rather tedious.
Your diorama setting looks really busy. I always did like that for some reason. Just gives it a more realistic touch. Nice work.
I just visited the RAAF Aviation Museum in Perth (that’s in the land of Oz), were they have a fully restored Lanc - first time I saw one and bloody beautiful too.
Fantastic! I’ve been reading up on the bomber offensive against Nazi Germany, and special mention was paid to the boys of 617 squadron. These guys were incredibly brave, and on one of the runs, 2 of the Lancs that had dropped already, escorted a third lancaster in so as to draw enemy fire away from the one bombing! A great tribute to such fine gentlemen! [:D]
Thanks everybody for your kind words,I was very pleased that you like it.
This is a Revell 1/72 model, and the control tower is Airfix 1/72 as also the Matador fuel tanker.
I agree also that this boys of the 617 Squadron deserves a tribute.
Thanks again to all of you
I went with the Airfix version as I heard it was a slightly better build. I have got my perspex shower screen reservoir surface and just need to figure out how to replicate that big splash of the bomb hitting the water.
