I’m thinking of buying the Tamiya 1/48 scale Lancaster with working prop engines. Has anyone built this kit? Anything to look out for? Is it worth the money $110.00
Thanks for your help

I personally have not built it, but I have to say, I love Tamiya’s models, I’ve never had a problem with them, any error in the building process was because of me. I would imagine the Lancaster would be a really nice kit. I’m planning on getting one sometime in the future too, If you get it share what you think about it!
I am working on the non-motorized version right now. It is big and goes together fairly well. I have not had to use much filler anywhere. The clear parts are tedious though lots of small windows. I have enjoyed it so far.
Hey Shayne! I have this kit in my stash but havent started it yet. One cool thing about it is it has a set of pre-painted canopies along with a set of un-painted. You dont have to worry about masking a million little windows if you use the prepainted canopy and if youre a glutton for punishment, use the other set! I bought my kit a couple of years ago for 80 bucks. I personally cringe when kits go over 50 bucks so Ill try to get it on Ebay at a discount first before going to a hobby shop since the closest is better than 50 miles away. It is definately a cool looking kit. Only you can decide if it`s worth $110.00! Good luck…Len
I have this in my stash ,got on ebay in a lot of 1/48 bombers .I think thats a good price maybe a little high .I just pulled it for a look and : A full box , 5-6 figs , 2 version decals , prepainted clear parts that appear to be excellent , motors for the props and a Grand Slam bomb incorporated as the prop on/off switch.I see I also accumulated eduard seatbelts ,interior , and qboost gun barrels .So yes I think its worth it.One I would build with theextra care an expensive kit deserves.
