I just got a 3 oz bottle of lacquer over coat from Model Master for the finishing of my latest model. 3 oz is just not enough for the price. I use enamels FS colors most the time. But only enamels. Is there a better or similar spray on Lacquer over coat I can use that will not damage my finish on my model or ruin my decals? [?] |

Until I switched to acrylic (for everything). I had great results with testers (spary can) flat and semi gloss over-coat. I had used both over enamel and acrylic paint. A word of caution though do not use these spray’s over Gunze Sangyo acrylics. Trust me… DISASTER!
well I guess what i was trying to say is. Is it safe to use other brands for the lacquer coating ? other than what the manufacturer recommends ? thanks for your answer [:)] |

The Testors lacquer clear coats are made for model applications. They are not nearly as caustic as other lacquer paints. If you are going to try clear coats that are not intended for models you would be best off if you test the application before applying it to a model you care about.
