I,ve always used clear Dullcote Lacquer on my models. But lately i,ve been seeing this clear acrylic dullcote. Whats the difference between the two? and is one better then the other are they both use for something different?
Here is a very good topic written by Robert Foster on the difference between laquer, enamel, and acrylic. As to which you choose, that choice is yours. I personally prefer acrylics.
Thanks for the reply as for as paint goes im starting to like acrylic alot more then enamel. Did some test on the clear dullcote and lacquer to me, seems to give a flater finish then the acrylic clear flat. Now i like them both…hihi. I think I can find a use for both them.
I used to use Testors Dull Cote, which is a lacquer, but have switched to Polly Scale Clear Flat, which is an acrylic. The Polly Scale is the best flat finish I’ve ever used.
