what is the base of Vallejo paint products? Oil, acrylic,…?
Arcylic… I use filtered water to thin it too for washes. I recently used it for the first time few days ago and loved it!
Spot on Andy, I use Vallejo and gamesworkshop almost exclusively , then oils for effects.

Well I can’t believe its been so long since I got an update done, but alas I’m making progress.
Best get on with the pics.
The seats installed.
The rudders at an early stage,
Weathering started,
And I’m calling them done at this stage,
The running gear
Oil paint used to blend all the chipping together,
In and around the props,
I started this out with a mushy mix of MIG pigments and acrylic paint stippled onto the surface.
When dry I continually washed the areas with Tamiya flat earth diluted down with alachol and water until theh paint was less than 10% of the mix.
This took several nights to achieve.
I was out last friday nightwith a few fellow modellers and one of my friends suggested adding some slime and a kind of moss effect, I completely dismissed this until I seen Rob’s slimed up turret over on missing lynx.
This is only the start but I intend to work on this.

Only suggestion I would make is to double-check on the road wheels…I believe the LWS was equipped with rubber rims and not all-metal road wheels but I’m not 100% sure. [;)]

Bill , thanks for pointing out theh problem with theh wheels. I must admit that I was planning this build since last august and have a bundle of photos from internet, nothing conclusive to point either way.
The box art seems to suggest steel… now I have been influenced by two builds, one theh classic by Tony Greenland and his seemss to be steeel wheel, the other by Rhodes Williams, steel again.
The only half decent reference in print was in the old encyclopedia of German tanks and armourd vehicles by Dolye ,Jentz and Chamberlin. The actual vehicle I’m building is in there. 234 I think that numbr was applied by the British after it was capturd in North Africa but I could be wrong.
As for the suspension there is at least two types during theh vehicles short production and development.
Still no concrete evidence of rubber or steel.
If anybody could confirm then I would surely be grateful and fix the problem immediately.

B/W pics are tough to tell…I know on the Bronco box art, they showed all-rubber wheels. When you look at actual pics though, it’s tough to tell.
This one clearly shows rubber rims though.

Wow I can’t believe that its so long since I updated this one. I was in th panzerjager GB so that took up bench time, but I have been working away on this. I have scratched the rope bumpers as I was not willing to spend more money on an accessory than I spent on the kit. I used the kit tracks which are awful but I got the sag in place by forward planning and placing pins in the hull early on during the build.
I placed tamiya masking tape all round the hull, reason? well I wanted to give the impression of a waterline with two different weathering types above and below the line. It will be a while before this is fully realised.
The rope bumper in place, its made from model ship rigging.
The front bumper is made from bandage wrapped around a piece of sponge.
This is just an update, I have a lot of work to do and two weeks to placing it on the competition table.
