Got burnt out on the flak gun, so I built a few other things…

So while not admitting I was wrong (ok so I was), the name would have been appropriate for any Russian tanks dating back to 1263! Especially any tanks in the Moscow to Leningrad area.

KV-85 is a tank I like alot, but you don’t see it modeled very often.

What’s the story on the Hull Machine gun up front; 
looks strange.
1st I want to thank;

You guys are great!
I have A.D.D., and the last few months have been tough on me with family and personal problems coupled with my A.D.D. made it hard to concentrate on getting the Flak gun project done.
So the best way to “get back on that horse” was to find something “easier” and quicker to build and take to finish.
As for the kit, the turret and road wheels are from Eastern Express and the hull and tracks are from Trupeter.
As for the hull MG, there isn’t one, just a dummy.
I really need to thank my good friend “Shoot & Scoot” for researching the slogan on the side of the turret.
With this new info I can better place when and were this KV served, and that’s cool!!!

I am certainly no expert, but I wonder if those markings and the dummy mg mean this is a prototype or vehicle submitted for testing and review. I would love to know the history of this vehicle if you find out more!

Actually, all the pictures of the (as I call it “large turret”) KV-85 have the dummy bow gun.
And as for the markings, who knows, but it seems that Ivan was fond of flamboyant markings on his tanks…
Though, if anyone on here has more info that would be great!

Or maybe this was a post war vehicle that was captured and evaluated. On the bow, looks like an indication of the angle of the armor’s slope maybe? Also, to the right of the gun on the turret, is that the max and min elevation of the gun indicated?
That’s why I thought it might be a test vehicle. Maybe some of out resident experts on Russian armor could chime in?
