Kudos to Squadron

I emailed Squadron and told them that I bought these resin P-47 seats from someone on Ebay and they appear to have not been cast thick enough which is why one is broken.
I received an email today from Macky Sue at Squadron telling me to send it in for a replacement. Very cool!
It looks like Squadron has some good customer service. [tup]
This is the kind of thing that makes me a lifetime customer. [;)]

That’s good to here mate. I’ve never dealt with squadron, but it’s this sort of thing that makes me want to give them a go. Do they send stuff to Australia?

Mike, thats pretty good for Squadron considering you weren’t actually their customer. I don’t do much mail order or on-line purchasing, but I’ve always been happy with Squadrons service.

Regards, Rick

yeah they ship overseas… I’ve never had to wait more than a day for them to ship something to me… of course then you would have the voyage across the ocean…

The shipping price overseas is 30% of the order price or actual shipping charges, whichever is less… which could be in your favor if you wait and order a lot…or order a big price kit (30% of price vs. shipping charges…)

I recommend them! I always get my stuff and it’s always packed nice!!!

Squadron has always been most helpful and has an excellent customer service philosophy. I have had similar situations happen and have found that if you are honest and straight with them they will take care of you.

Well…that’s better than my dealings with them. I am glad to see that they aren’t completely terrible…

It’s always nice when a vendor goes the extra mile to help you out. Especially when the purchase didn’t even originate with them. They certainly would be seeing some of my business. Glad things worked out for you Mike. Semper fi, mike

But…True Details is owned by them I was told so if these seats were cast incorrectly then I would expect them to offer a replacement.
If they would have said they couldn’t help me then I would have told them thanks, but I will be spending my money on UltraCast’s resin products for now on. [:D] [;)]

I don’t understand why more companies aren’t this way as it is only great for business, especially in this internet age. If they were thinking then some of these companies would realize that someone who has a very positive experience with them can easily come on a forum like this, tell of their experience, and actually advertise to 30,000 members how good this company treats people. That could possibly equate to some substantial increased sales for the company for nothing more than replacing a $5 part for someone. [:)]

Mike

It works the other way to … someone gets on a forum and tells everyone that company XYZ is horrible to deal with and they start to feel it. I have sent email messages to numerous companies and never even gotten a response. I have also sent email questions to companies and gotten responses in a matter of a couple of hours (the best so far is 20 minutes from Pioneer Electronics, the second best is an hour by Badger).

It amazes me that more companies haven’t figured this out yet. The information age is here to stay and a lot of companies need to realize what it can do for or against them. Customer support is something that cannot be overstressed. Squadron has been there for me, and when I need something that’s the first place I look.

Thanks for adding that Scott.
That is also true.

Mike

Good customer service will always keep regulars coming back to that company. What’s even better, that customer spreads the word to his friends and the company gets more business.[:)] It’s sad that more companies don’t realize this.

Wow. In my opinion, that’s above and beyond the call of duty. Well done, Squadron!

Once I ordered an item on sale from their monthly newsletter but I was looking at the month that hadn’t started! Yet, they were so nice and gave me the discount anyway. I know, it was only a few bucks but what impressed me was the customer service.

I have to agree with all of you that squadron’s customer service is superb!!

Hey Pingtang,

I have dealt with Squadron a number of times and always found them to be great and yes they certainly do ship to Aus.

As a rule I don’t generally buy kits off them, just detail sets, decals, etc, etc which takes about a week to a week and a half to get here.

Cheers
Darren

I recently posted an observation (complaint?) that Squadron didn’t seem to have those really great bargains in their monthly updates as they once did. However, it probably wasn’t fair of me not to point out that I have had nothing but good experiences with Squadron. I have ordered from the updates three weeks after expiration (hey, sometimes the money’s not there when you need it), and they’ve never refused to fill the order. And for all my complaining about the Japanese firms absurdly expensive and wasteful part replacement policies (actually, this can be laid at the feet of the importer), other companies such as Accurate Miniatures, Williams Brothers and Monogram have replaced parts for me gratis, and in each case I was the one who was responsible for the loss or destruction of the parts. Some firms know how quickly modelers will vote witht their feet and their checkbooks, and they adhere to the philosophy of customer loyalty. Others do not.

hmmm the oposite. like a company that is almost a year to send an order? hmmmmm wouldnt know any like that (cough)avusk(cough)
