Ran across these while scoping out the various forums.
They’re most likely from ebay auctions or some similar, but I grabbed 'em directly from the host directory and so can’t ID 'em without a bit of digging through the library. Afterall, I am a flyboy first… [:p]
Anyhoo, thought some of ya’ll would enjoy. They ain’t the best quality, but they’re still groovy…

After looking at line drawings I really think pictures 1,2,and 5 are of the light battleship
KM Scharnhorst, pre war that is, it looks like the ship had a bow change.

I guess a bow change is the same as a nose job [4;-)]
Both Scharnhorst and Gneisenau had their straight stems replaced with the ‘Atlantic Stem’ in the late 30s. It was designed to improve sea keeping qualities over the bow.
Also, all of the image links are broken…some sort glitch, but it may be on my part, since I’m accessing remotely.
Scharnhorst and Gneisenau were both classfied as battlecruisers (Japan did the same thing with the Kongo class of battleships, but much earlier), as it was intended to upgrade their main guns during a refit that was supposed to occur in 1941-42, but the start of the war prevented this from happening.
