Korea War: American GIs & Tank Commander

Guys, I just realized I forgot to share my recent work on American GIs and tank commander completed for Figures GB as SteveM mentioned. They will go with my current build M24 Chaffee for The Korea War GB. The figures are from Dragon (DML).

Here’s the American GIs taking a break while talking with the tank commander…

I welcome comments and feedback… thanks for looking!

Excellent figures, deaf, A+

Thanks for sharing

Thanks buddy! [Y] Boy, I haven’t gotten a grade of A+ since maybe middle school. [:P] LOL

Super cool, Andy. Glad to see you diggin’ the Lifecolor series.

Thanks Steve! I love 'em LifeColor! They are my first choice now before Vallejo. I brought sets for both German and US uniforms and gears… four in total. Hope I am not missing a good LifeColor set for figures only you would recommend another than Flesh Set from Vallejo which I already have.

I still use Model Master enamel paints for armors only… just like wbill and many others.

Andy~You know I love waht you did with these dudes

By the way guys–Mark Bannerman told Andy it was increadible what he did with some plastic figures–especially that takers eyes!

Nice huh? & true!

Adam- Thanks buddy! One of Mark’s boosk is on my birthday wish list… keep your fingers crossed. Miss seeing your WIPs here… too quiet without you. Of course I know where to find you. [:D]

Have a great weekend and don’t forget to kiss a veteran! [ks]

I am curious about these figures. Are they really Korean era troops or are they troops form late WW2, like the Remagen kit? If so, then I can use them for my Korean dio with a Pershing taqnk. They look great though. Lenny

Thanks Lenny! Yes, I used the Dragon figure set… ‘Advance to the Rhine’: U.S. Army at Remagen 1945. I recall there are some resin figures but I’d hate to spend $15-$25 for each figure. I brought this set for only $15 and it came with six figures… priceless! I looked at the pictures of GIs from Korea War and they wore same stuff from late WWII.

Good luck!

Edited for content.

Nice work

Yeah the Life color sets are the bomb I have the US gear paint set and actually have found that the Herring Bone Tan also works well with German canvas gear as well. BTW did you also pick up the LifeColor Guns and Weapons paint set? That set is actually pretty cool looks like the gun gray would work good on US guns for parkerizing and the Gun Blue would look like German weapons.

Captfue- Thanks!!! [B]

Mike- I’d love to buy more LifeColr paint sets! [:D] No, I haven’t got that new set and my buddy Adam did a great review on this set recently. It looks pretty good… I might get it if I ever see it at LHS.

I got mine at Sprue Bros. when it came out. Of course Great Models still doesn’t have it which is wierd. But it is also what is conscidered the AlCad of the Acrylic world since it uses metal powder to mix in the paint to get the reflective effects(which you buff with a stiff bristle brush and I use a toothbrush to do that). With the only exception being the light and dark paints for the stocks which when using a stiff bristle brush(toothbrush) makes them look like shiny varnish (quite realistic).
