I am looking for a picture of a Panther hit in the engine compartment. With out damage to the crew compartment. I need to know how a penetrating hole looks like and the damage. I am going to use burnt out raodwheels on the rear stations. Rust from the burned off paint and exposed metal.
How do you make the ash pile, around the burned out roadwheels?

Couple of pics that might help:
Many modelers carve away the rubber on the roadwheels and simulate burned off rubber using ciggie ashes fixed w/ white glue…burned rubber looked like very light grey (almost white) powder…some companies actually sell burnt-out wheel sets…Legend, MiG and some others…
I used Squadron White Putty and talcum powder on White glue to simulate mine…these wheels are an aftermarket set availablefrom…uh…hmmmm…gonna have to look it up.

LOL, i know this sounds terrible, but flaming tanks always make me laugh (if you can’t tell i have a morbid sense of humor)!
Anyway, Mark, there’s a book, i can’t remember the title, by Mig Jeminez. His book has entire chapter about shell holes and burnt vehicles.
