Klingons for Bandai?

What’s next for the lit, prepainted Bandai kits? I’d love to see a Klingon ship, particularly the battlecruiser style from ST:TMP (the old-style ship with the hi-tech detailing). I think the bird of prey is a bit overexposed, and it’s actually quite a small ship, more of a frigate than a cruiser.

Any word? Or will it be every version of the Enterprise under the sun before any other ships are done?

Hey there. It’s in the new Previews order book for comics stores. The next
ship from Bandai is the NX-01. Looks good too.

This is a technicality about the Klingon Bird of Prey but I think it is worth mentioning. The small B.O.P. as seen in Star Trek III, IV, V, VI and several TNG episodes is known as the B’Rel class and carries a crew of about 12. But in the TNG episode “Yesterday’s Enterprise” we see a much larger cruiser version called the K’Vort class. This class of vessel is nearly as large as the big Starfleet cruisers and carries a crew of several hundred. Size is virtually the only difference between the classes. The same photographic miniature was used for both classes.

Having said that, I agree that the Bird of Prey is overexposed. I’d like to see someone make an affordable kit of the Klingon Negh’Var class dreadnought from TNG’s “All Good Things…” and DS9. Now THAT is a beautiful ship!

Rumored after that is the E-D.
