Kitty Hawk 1/48 F-101 A/C Voodoo

This is one of KH’s more difficult kits, very modular and a lot of poor fitting pieces. But I really love the final look of this build. One of my favs.

She looks good, only critique is with the photo lighting. Some direct lighting would help appreciate your work easier.

Great job. Not happy to hear about the kit - I have the B in the stash

@Grant_Dalzell ,

The detail was so crisp and it photographed so well I thought this was a much larger scale. Like 1/24 size. I don’t know how you do it, but all of the aircraft you have posted have been gorgeous. Pardon the cheese, but :heart_eyes: :exploding_head:

I’ve heard horror stories about how tough some of these Kitty Hawk kits can be but you are definitely proving the fact that it’s the modeler and not the modeler that triumph in the end. Beautiful NMF and detail work throughout this build. I always get a charge out of looking at your work @Grant_Dalzell .
Knockin’ 'em dead one build at a time bro. :+1:

Nice work! The century fighters are one of my favorite topics.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard a positive build review of a KH model. Every one I’ve ever tried fought me till the end. Much credit given for laboring through and ending up with a fantastic looking build. Congrats.

I’ve built two Kitty Hawk kits - the XF5U-1 Flying Flapjack and the F-86D Dog Sabre. Didn’t have any problems with the former, while the latter fought me in some areas but ultimately I won out and produced a damn fine looking F-86D.

I have the F9F Cougar and the Kingfisher in my stash.
