Kits that we would like to see

Hi,

For cars, I wouldn’t mind seeing a model of some of the cars that I have owned over the years. and/or maybe a 1949 Cadillac or any of the late 1940s to early 1950s Buicks and/or Chevrolets.

For military stuff I’d like to see maybe a 1/35th scale model of the Amercian M-1 and M-2 Combat Cars andI’ve heard rumors of a possible French FCM36 model coming out this year.

For ships and boats I’d like to see a decent sized (1/200 or bigger) scale model of a reasonably modern Mine Countemeasures Vessel and/or a Research Ship, as well as maybe more 1/350th to 1/500th scale Pre-Dreadnaughts and early steam vessels.

I am also interested in some of the smaller vessels that served in WWII and wouldn’t mind seeing some additional decent scale stuff like the Castle Class Corvette and some other ships like WWII sloops, frigates and escorts.

Pat

I would like to see a PV-2,not the same as a pv-1 in 1/48.some 1/48 newer biz jets like a cessna x,falcon.

In 1/72:
Douglas C-117D “Super Gooney”
Curtiss C-46 Commando

In 1/144:
Boeing B-50 Superfortress

In 1/24:
Cessna 172 Skyhawk
Piper 180 Cherokee

I’ll put in my plea again for two civil transports- first a decent kit of the famous Ford Trimotor in 1:72. Both kits I am aware of (Revell and Airfix) have problems. A good 1:144 trimotor would be welcome also.

Next, a good, detailed DC-3- a built as DC-3 not a converted C-47. Yeah, you can modify the C-47s to an early DC-3, but it is a bit of work and needs rescribing panel lines. The original sleeper version would be neat too.

How about a 1/72 Martin M-130 China Clipper? All these years and all there is, is the ancient off scale Strombecker kit, re-released by Glenco. Captain Musick is disapponted!

1/48 scale B-45 Tornado, updated 1/48 B-58, updated 1/48 B-47, updated 1/48 B-25 B model, updated 1/48 B-24 (early WW2 version), 1/32 Dehavilland DHC-2 Beaver, 1/32 Piper Supercub, and a 1/48 scale C-123 would be on my wishlist.

I’ll second the 1/48 G3M Nell, B-66, and F11F. To those I’ll add a AH-1G, OV-10A, RF-84F, RF-8, and YF-17 Cobra.

In 1/35 I’d love to see a M4/M4A1 DD tank, M3 90mm AA gun, M75 & M57 APCs, M48(A nothing), LVT-1 & LVT-3 AMTRACs, M114, M578, M53 & M55 SPGs, and M113 TOW Track

Oh yeah, why no 1/35 AH-1G? Seems to have all the ingredients of a sure seller: first dedicated gunship helo, first into actual combat, Viet Nam era, plus it’s a good looking helo.

Existing subjects that need new tooling would include all older Monogram 1/48 medium and heavy bombers, and all Hasegawa 1/72 large multi-engine aircraft. Their Orion seems evergreen at contests, so it’s high time to give modelers a new one.

Toss in a new tool 1/48 Kinfisher and add a Jake.

And there has been discussion of 1/32 Kates and Vals. Hasegawa, are you listening?

You know, I was skeptical of 3-D printed kits, but they are constantly evolving. We may soon actually have a viable alternative to injection molded kits, which will open up possibilities that were impractical before.

An Avro Vulcan or a Handley Page Victor in 1/48 would be great but I’d settle for a good one in 1/72 as well. For autos: ‘68-‘74 Karmann Gia in 1/24. I don’t build autos too much. I always thought these were interesting cars.

I doubt I’ll ever see this but an injection molded 1/48 BV 138 or a BV 139 would be sweet.

Ok, how about a 1/350 USS West Virginia, a 1/350 angle deck modern USS Midway, and a 1/350 USS Salt Lake City in plastic.

I believe Trumpeter had toyed with the idea of a Baltimore class cruiser, specifically the USS Pittsburgh.

And last but not least a new mold 1/48 F11F Tiger.

1/72 Gloster Javelin, AW Meteor nightfighter. Any and all variants of the Canberra and Hunters

1/48 B-26 Marauder, any and all Japanese bombers from WWII single and twin engine

We already have the Airfix Victor in 72nd, both bomber and tanker versions. There is a new Vulcan due out this year.

I think some companies might watch this kind of traffic on the Internet, though, and perhaps take it into account. For example, when Aoshima came out with its kit of the USS Wasp (CV-7) in 1/700, in 2 different boxings, I wondered whether someone in kit development there might have seen comments on forums, expressing the desire for exactly that kit. Trumpeter came out with its 1/350 USS Ranger (CV-4) around the same time, and I also wondered about that one, too.

I would like to see Tamiya release several. Here are a few, P-40, Hellcat, SBD, TBD, P-39, P-36, P-61, New wildcat would be nice as well, and on and on. I guess I just prefer to build Tamiya and wish they made them all.

Monogram/Revell has a 1/48 B-26 Marauder. I’m hoping ICM would offer a new tool of the Marauder as they did with the A/B-26 Invader.

Some Airfix re-tools: Handley Page Halifax & Hampden bombers, Short Stirling, Ju 52, Vosper MTB, RAF rescue launch, German S-Boat, BAC/BAe Jaguar (Gulf War option?), SA 330 Puma, any WW1 aircraft - all in 1/72. Suddenly I’m 12 years old again!

A 1/72 B-24H with an accurate Ford nose and an accurate nice fitting 1/72 P-38J/L.

1/48 P-38 J/L from Tamiya. I’m pretty sure it’s already in the works though with how some of the parts were made in the F/G kit. The odd versions would be nice too, droop snoot, night fighter, pathfinder, different photo recon versions. I’m well aware Academy does them but they’d be really good redone.

My usual answer is a 1/350 or 1/200 Hamilton class USCG WHEC and/or a Reliance class WMEC. A 1/200 scale USCG Eagle would be nice while I’m wishing. I have a better chance to catch a ride on Space X than ever see one of any of those though.
