Maybe I missed it. Has FSM ran a kits we would like to see produced article in the magazine lately? Me personally I would like to see a 1/48th B-47 and B-66 in injection molded.
I can’t remember seeing one of those articles lately. As for me, it’s been awhile since we got a good Me109[;)]
Good question, about when that subject was last published in the magazine. On forums, speaking very generally, wish list threads tend to appear cyclically, like at the end of the year, or timed around one or more of the big toy/hobby shows, eg, Nurnberg or Shizuoka.
My stand-by answers, as far as airplane kits go, are a C-46, a B-32, and a B-18, all injection-molded in 1/48 scale. Also a Fieseler Fi-167, the German torpedo bomber intended for use with their planned aircraft carriers.
Before the Hobbico disaster, I had a hope that Revell-Monogram might have tackled the C-46. Their recent new kit development-the PV-2, the Stearman-suggested that they might try something like that.
How about a 1/48 B-2 and B-52!
Could use the following new tools in 1/72: OS2U Kingfisher, J2F Duck, F7F Tigercat, F8F Bearcat, and an O-47.
Monogram did a series of single engine civilian planes. I remember the Piper Tri-something that came with a hunter posing with a dead mountain lion and I think a photographer.
I liked these civilian planes and think the line could be expanded. They were a decent scale, probably close to 1/24 or 1/25.
You know, you’re right. It has been a while since FSM published a wishlist article.
Although over time some of my wishlist items have come to fruition there are some I would still love to see popped or new moldings of.
1/72 and/or 1/48 PB4Y Privateer
1/72 and/or 1/48 F7F Tigercat
1/72 PV-1 Ventura
1/72 P2V Neptune
1/72 F11F Tiger
1/700 USS Salt Lake City
1/700 USS Utah
1/25 '67 Mercury Cougar
Rob;
That was a Piper Tri-Pacer! As for me I would like to see the following
1-1961 Chrysler Imperial 2dr ht.
2-A decent re-do of the Revell support ship fleet. Even in their off scales.
Lastly Imai or another fairly obscure company did in the 70s some nice inland light duty C.G.Cutters. I would like to see those make a comeback
Plus, Sorry one more. Aurora did a very nice model of “Wheeler Cruiser”. One of the best around at the time and one of the few older style motoryachts done in plastic, That wasn’t overdone with mold lines and window frames like Revell’s old Chris Craft Tri-Cabin Motoryacht.
OOps! One more. The Miss Budweiser Hydro Boat without Beer Sponsor markings. There were other sponsors besides them! and Ditto on what " G " says.
Any rigid airship, Macon/ Akron for example.
Bill
Mine has not changed in years. 1/72nd Ju 87C. Kit or conversion i don’t mind.
Yeah, we’ve done wishlists here in the past. I still stand by my desire for 1/48 scale injection molded trainers. I have an Occidental T-6G in the stash that looks nice. I’d really like to see:
PT-19, PT-22, BT-13/14, early AT-6/Harvard/SNJ, AT-11, T-28A, T-28C, and lastly, T-6 Texan II. These kits wouldn’t need a lot of pointless doodads to make them attractive to modelers, just a nicely detailed OOB cockpit and some engine detail, but something that looks nice when completed and sitting on the shelf.
I’d like to see Tamiya do a 1/32 scale A-10C. I know about the Trumpeter kit for the A, I have one, and its not very good. Having Tamiya make one that has sharp, accurate detail and is so well-engineered it just falls together (typical Tamiya) would be fantastic.
Modelers always have the best ideas to drive model companies out of business faster than you can say ‘most wanted list’.
Wow,can’t really think of any,I am pretty caught up.Tamiya answered me with their F-14 and P-38 Great Wall gave me a great Mig 29.Is there a quality F-35 in 1/48 out yet ?
Not my biggest genre
My want list really hasn’t changed much.
In 1/48, I’d love to see a B-32, C-46, F-11 Tiger, and G3M “Nell”. I hope to see ICM release a new tool A-20 Havoc since they recently did the A-26 Invader.
I’d love to see Tamiya add to their 1/32 WWII line with a Mosquito Mk. IV and introduce a P-47D (Razorback or Bubbletop, I’m indifferent on that distinction).
Edit to add - I’d like to see a new tool Fairey Barracuda in 1/48 as well.
The obscure:
RNAS Seabrook armoured lorry (WW1) in any decent scale…1/25 would be righteous.
The less obscure:
Proper (i.e. 4-door) police cars of the '60s-'70s…preferably of the ‘Adam-12’ Plymouth Belvedere variety. [No apologies…I’m a die-hard fan.]
Cheers
A full series of the F4 Phantom in 1/24. Meaning the C/D, E, J, and RF4C.
A Curtiss C-46 in 1/72 and any US Navy yellow wing aircraft of mid 30s in 1/48
All new tool injection molded plastic:
1/144 N1 Soviet moon rocket, Zubr class hovercraft, KM-1 Caspian Sea Monster
1/72 Ju-287 V2 or V3, BV-141, Shin Meiwa US-2
1/48 DeHavilland Hornet/Sea Hornet, Mitsubishi Ki-83, Convair Sea Dart
1/32 Mid-wing Shiden, Ohka Model 11, Harrier GR3
OK, I know this was originally for aircraft, but I’m going to toss some wierd stuff into the mix. I’m pretty sure nobody has requested these (other than the A-10). Hold on to your hats:
AIR= 1/18 A-10 (Detailed)
MILITARY= 1/35 Guns of Navarone Cliff Set (with crew)
SHIP= 1/24 Jet/Turbine Racing Boat (Miss Budweiser?) with semi hauler
AUTO= 1/24 Alfa Romeo BAT 5, 7, 9 and 11 set (quality / detail)
SPACE= 1/12 Gemeni Capsule (to match with Mercury capsule)
MOTORCYCLE= 1/12 Harley and Indian board track racer set (with riders)
OK, I’ll go take my medication now…
