Kits from RPM

[8D] Has anyone built any of these rpm kits from poland? i have a few and was just wondering what you think![?]

I bought the “Fragment of the Stalin Line”. Since I only paid $6 for it, I wasn’t expecting much. I got what I paid for, not much. The vacuum-formed base was very thin and cracked before I got it. That doesn’t really matter since I’m going to pour plaster into it, as most of the detail is on the inside surface. I plan on breaking the bunkers apart and remounting them in a larger diorama, since the OOB kit is rather small. I can’t believe my LHS was asking $20 for this kit!

Well, I bought the tks pzkpfw the niszyciel czotgow ue (630) f which had some pe stuff and the ft31 pzkpfw 730 (f) which had a s@#t load of pe and the pzkpfw tks (p) ra 43. I got them for around $8.00 each and plan on getting more! I found that the kits were very good for a light early ww2 tank. I also looked at the dio stuff from them and am glad i didnt spent the $14-$20.00 bucks for that stuff. i built a little vignette out of one and for an oddball subject matter it turned out better that i had anticipated it to be. Check out the other tanks im sure youll like them better!

Hum… That sounds like a pretty good deal for the money. Odd vehicles to say the least. But with all those PE goodies, maybe an ugly duckling isn’t such a bad thing after all.

I’ve got an Afrika Korps VW and T-60 Soviet light tank that both came with a lot of PE. Some kits are extremely nice, others have that typical Eastern European limited edition look to them.

I’ve built several, mostly German armor, and have found them to be O.K., especially if the kit is the only one offered for a specific subject.

I’ve made the FT 17’s and like them very much, but you MUST buy the indi link tracks. The kit tracks are trash. Why RPM didn’t just put the indi tracks with the kit is beyond me. (I know, $$$). I have the ‘radio’ version of the FT on the shelf right now waiting to be built and am looking forward to putting a more detailed interior in it.

Built an FT-17 myself-took 2 kits to complete one-lotsa work but the odd subjects make it worthwhile.

From what yall have said about the rpm kits the money was well spent then. The dios are a bit lacking and the vaccuum forming isnt worth doing and plaster is the way to go with them. The dealer that i got those kits from has a lot more variety this week cause hes got an ebay store and i saw a bunch more new kits i want to get![:D] And maybe add a little bit of tamiya figures and like yall said about an interior sounds great!
