I just bought a Mustang Mach 1, and I am planning (hopefully) to modify it to the GT-500 in Gone in 60 seconds. I saw “Eleanor” in Las Vegas…after that, I knew I had to make a model of it.
So, is there anywhere that might sell some sort of kit for it? Or maybe even somewhere that does body-kits for a mustang? The other thing is wheels: I’m kinda assuming that they don’t make the exact wheels, but I pry will try to find some I can modify.

Ahhh I see lots of scratch building in your future…I too wanted to make this model but have struck out on the parts and I dont do to well with scratch building yet. You might want to drop by your LHS and pick thier brain…they may have some ideas of kits you could rob parts off of…or may even have some of the stuff you’ll need. When my LHS pointed me to the Evergreen Styrene display and told me everything I would need was right there I bought fell out laughing and gave up!

As “Eleanor” was a modified Shelby GT 500, you will have to do ALOT of scratch building. Almost as much as the 1:1 rebuilders of “Eleanor” do!
Check out Mustang Monthly magazine, they have a fasination with the car, and in fact have an article on how to do a build up scheduled in the December issue.
Good luck, maybe after market companies will hop on the band wagon soon.

That movie was a pile of crap with a diamond in it. It was truly awful, but that car chase was the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen. We’re talking about the original here right, not the remake. That remake lacked the diamond. I’ve had an eye for that car ever since seeing the movie. If you decide to undertake this project, please take pics along the way to doccument what you’re doing. I’d love to see pics and a build-up as it goes. How was the car modified from the standard Shelby?
