kit bashing

so i found this really awsome 3d rendering of a plane based on the red barron, and im really compelled to build it, the base plane is a me-109 which shouldnt be hard to find, but its the second wings, exhaust, and get engine ill need to build, any suggestons on kits i can bash or easy ways to scratch build?

heres the page i found it on: http://www.3dtotal.com/forums_frameset/index.php?e=http://www.3dtotal.com/tutorial/3d_studio_max/aircraft_redbaron_plane/plane_modeling_red_baron_01.php

Try an Me-309 (not a 109) with Ju-87 wings for the lower ones.

ive only been able to find a me 309 fom czech models and i cant find any place to buy it, any other company that will make a 1/48 scale kit?

The Czech model in plastic and the Classic Resin (in resin) are the only 2 in 1/48 I can think of. They are both OOP, but the Czech model is pretty common and cheap on Ebay these days.

damn i may just use this as insperation for my own kit bash

That would be one tough looking build. IMO, the landing gear needed to support the weight during landing would call for a fairly thick, strong, lower wing. As Bronto said, a Ju-87 would make a good fit and you could use either the rigid lg or, with a little scratch building effort, retractable gear. This is a very interesting project. Keep us informed and don’t be afraid to post pics.

i will keep everyone posted, the only issue is finding a 309 to use, so i was thinking of using this as insperation for using a more common plane
