Kingtiger 1:35 (my first properly finished tank..)

Hi all,

I have just finished (well, nearly) my first properly done 1:35 tank, since I was about 9 or 10.

I have read a lot of different articles and have tried to give it as realistic a finish as possible. The kit was Dragon’s Battle of the Bulge Kingtiger, but I decided to paint it in the colours of a Kingtiger from Berlin, as I just prefer the scheme (and it’s far easier to paint!).

For the weathering, since I couldn’t really afford Mig pigments and oils, I used an old watercolour paint set for rust and other signs of wear… and although I didn’t really have the correct tools for the job, I’m pleased with how it turned out.

Eventually I intend to put it in a diorama depicting street fighting in a city somewhere in the eastern front Eastern Front or Berlin… would this be historically appropriate or accurate…?? (Also, does it matter too much about decals, as I didn’t have any appropriate ones for the “100” marking the ones I based it on had, as were there unmarked Kingtigers in Berlin or other areas of the eastern front without?)

Sorry for the questions, I have had no luck with researching [B)]

Anyhow, please let me know what you think, and where I can improve!

Seb

I like the camo, though i’m not sure that was ever used (don’t ask me, I’m a one tone kinda guy.)

A very solid build, and an excellent use of your resources, those water color rust stain look top notch! In my opinion, if you want to put it in a dio, go for it! doesn’t really matter if it’s the historically acurate dio/ kit of all time, as long as you enjoy the process, you’ve accomplished something
