i was in the hobby shop one day and saw the tamiya king tiger on the ardennes front and it looked pretty cool. i was wondering if anyone has built this beuaty and if it’s any good
I have it and it went together very nice, even comes with a nice motorcycle. The only issue I had was with the tracks, it might have been how I attached the idler wheel at the back, but my track was VERY tight. If you keep the mud skirts on that really won’t be much of an issue.
One thing that is nice about Dragon is the PE fan screens that the Tamiya kit doesn’t have.

This is the early turret version…very nice kit. I added Fruils and some other goodies, you can’t go wrong, no suprises…buy it…

The only problem is the price, compared to what you get. But apart from that it’s great.
I used it to build “222” from s.SS.Pz.Abt 501 in the Ardennes. But i replaced the kit tracks with Modelkasten and added a Aber PE set and some home made details like tow cables and gun cleaning rods.
Fantastic Tigers TMN1 and Crockett. I now have the urge to try one.

Yeah i had almost forgotten about that article. It’s not the best pictures though as the whitebalance is all screwed up so the colors look all wrong, i’ve been meaning to get Jeff to change the pictures to some newer ones, but he’s got way too much going on right now.
i still think it’s better then anything i could ever do
