Thanks for posting your pics. May I also offer some suggestions?
Besides prewar French armor, one rarely sees chain on armored vehicles. Why? Because they have almost no value. Note that most tanks use tow cables. Chains would become entangled and snag suspensions. I’d leave them off your next model.
The fenders on the side of a Tiger II were 5mm thick plates used to deflect anti-tank rifle bullets. You’ve torn yours up as if they were sheet metal. For that kind of damage, the plates would have been ripped off of their holders – not mangled as such
Your spare track links have mis matched links-- some facing the wrong way.
I think both 1) and 2) are because you’re trying to match what you see in other models. Try to use your research based on study of the actual vehicles rather than what you see looks cool on other models. Good luck to you and thanx again for sharing.
Thanks smeagol for viewing, stil have things to work on. The trees are actually evergreen bush limbs. Had to try looked so tempting, nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Thank you tigerman, was working on it off and on for a long time. The kt is tamyia, the zimm is pe from eduard.Should have done it my self. Had to try pe once
I rarely comment on other builds because my knowledge is not good enough, but what I liked with your layout is that it shows how massive that tank was/is.
you are right, you wont learn anything unless you try, that is why I have a ton of unfinished kits.
I do like your layout, the tank commander and whoever it is on the ground discussing the map and the other crewmen looking at the tank to see what maintenance is needed.
also, you did a nice job of shading the clothes, the highlights and lowlights on the pants especially is very nicley done.
The lay out is very nice! Overall the tiger is very nice looking and the figures are well picked, painted and placed. As mentioned would just remove the chains and not sure how it would look but maybe try painting the trees and add a little folage too them. The ground cover is the only thing I think really needs to be different, static grass will do wonders for this. Really enjoyed looking though, thanks and give us some more.
