King Tiger in progress

Hi all

Just thought I’d post up a couple of pictures of my in-progress Tamiya 1/35 Tiger II

About 80% finished - some fine details to paint (tools/cables/stowage) and weathering to do -

ALMOST DONE!? That looks great skii. Details, man, details! In 1/35? too cool! Bob

looking good, nice looking figure

skii,

Looking good! I like the way you rusted the exhaust pipes [;)]

Looks good. Keep posting pics.

Looks great, makes me want to add a Tiger to my to do list that much more.

Nice job skii. I’m using my old, old, King Tiger as a dummy to practice washes on. Looks terrible compared to yours. Keep up the good work. Someday I’ll have to get a new one.

What paints did you use for the commander’s jacket and the rust on the spare tracks? I’m going to build a king tiger myself and want the commander to look great. Excellent work!

wow, looks nice. I know you have a figure in it, but is there any inside detail?

Nice Job !

Great sag on those tracks

Very nice job Skii!!! Can’t wait to see it finished if it isn’t yet!!!

Eric

Looks fantastic! Great looking figure too. Cant wait to see the finsihed piece.

I also have to agree it is a very fine looking tank and figure.

Hey Skii, I saw this model posted on another site, and I have to say, you have done an excellent job bud. I know you asked a question about adding an ambush scheme…but I like it as it is. Very subtle camo, and very nice work on the figure. Look forward to some more pics once the weathring process is done.

Cheers

Rob

Nice work scii. Nice clean build all around and great work on the fig !!!

Please keep us posted on your progress with this big cat.

Thankyou all for your Kind coments - Moses - I’m going to keep the camo as it is, much as like the ambush pattern, I think with all the weathering I’m doing it will end up too ‘messy’ if you know what I mean.

The tank is painted almost completely with Humbrol enamels -
for the rust, I ground up a rust coloured pastel and mixed it with thinners - then simply painted it on. The spare track links are brown mixed with flat black, heavily thinned to create a dead flat finish. The track sag is a series of pins holding the vinyl tracks in the correct position.

I should be finished in the next couple of nights so I’ll post up the pics when I’m done.

Bee-yoo-tee-full!

I like the figure, a well done paint job. All my figures look like sad, psycho clowns.
Someday I may learn to paint small. Oh well.
Very sharp king Tiger, camo is great.

Excellent!
Ron.

Good job there Skii , i have been following this tank on the other site (hint hint) very good paint job on the tank commander [^] see you later TOAD - 13 OUT
