King Tiger Camo

Attention Armor Afficianados:
I’ve always thought a King Tiger would look “bad to the bone” in a winter camo scheme. Not just a whitewashh, but with some stripes or shapes, etc. I’m geeting ready to build one (Tamiya 1/16 I’ve had laying around) as my first project since about 1988.
2 questions:
Does anyone know if the King Tigers used in the Ardennes Offensive had any winter camo scheme? I’ve never seen any pictures, and they’d be black and white anyway, right?
Question 2 - Has anyone tried a winter camo on a King Tiger? How did you do it and how did you like it? I’ll sacrifice historical realness for coolness.

Well since you say you’ll sacrafice historical realness for coolness then go for it. I don’t know the answers to your questions but I have done a few “fantasy” camo schemes myself (mostly on wingy things) I have an F-15 in what I call “Arctic camo” and I think it looks great. You never know though, out in the field the soldiers will do whatever it takes and there may have been a few like your thinking.
