Kinectic’s first tracked kit and the first M109 kit in decades was a decent build.

Nice looking build. Assume you were going for ODS look. It is early in the morning and I thought the Kinetic kit was the A2 version and ODS would have seen the A4…then again not a huge difference. I will stop nit picking and have more coffee…Love it looks great

Looks good. The weathering looks nice. The A2/A3/A4/A5 were all pretty much the same externally, so it isn’t really an issue for ODS ('90-'91). The Kinetic kit is pretty nice. I have one that I plan on using the Trax resin interior and a CMK engine set on…eventually.
How will you compare this to the Italeri kit in terms of fit and other concerns? Kinetic vs. Italeri.

I have this kit too, but my build has stalled. Did you have any trouble getting the mantlet frame together properly?

Yes I did have a fit problem with the frame around the gun mantle. I used some Mr Surfacer to fill in the gaps in both joints. also have a fit problem with the upper hull to the lower hull at the front plating.
I have never seen the Italeri kit up close, but this Kinetic kit seem like it is fom the 1980s. Kind of soft in details and some fit problems

Is this still considered a ’ Paladin ’ or is pre upgrades to M109A6 ? ( I am not to familiar with new stuff, although I like it very much )

Here is the first paragraph of my review:
The M109A2 is the second upgraded version of the M109 self-propelled howitzer, the most widely used and longest serving artillery in the US Army history. The M109 entered service in 1961 and was upgraded to the M109A2 in 1979 with about 4000 pieces being produced. This kit represents a vehicle the US and British Army used from the late 1970s to the mid-1990s, when they were upgraded again to the M109A3/A4. I had the opportunity to serve in an Army Reserve M109 unit for 11 years, so I am very familiar with this gun.
The Paladin is the A6 and has all that computer, GPS, etc. hanging off the back of the turret and has a automated travel lock.
No, as Tim states, only the M109A6 is known as the “Paladin”. All prior versions were simply known as M109 Howitzers.
The box on the rear of the Paladin is an ammo box though, it does not hold any computers or GPS equipment. It is the same as the box on the rear of the M109A2/3, just bigger to hold more ammo. All the computerized fire control systems and GPS/commo gear is all in a small unit (about the size of a laptop computer) and a SINCGARS radio stack that are in front of and next to the TC’s (Track Commander) position.
