It’s great to be part of FSM. I’m looking forward to adding some of my projects to the forums and learning heaps from the wealth of knowledge and experience you have here.
I’ve been building scale models since I was about 12, on and off (sadly more off than on). I’ve always loved the intricate craft of making something small look as bealivable as it’s real world counter-part. Or at least making it look believable, in the case of some sci-fi model kits.
I’ve always been a HUGE fan of ILM and their real world FX and model making for the Star Wars franchise. Having recently immigrated to New Zealand I am much closer to Weta Workshop and more readily able to take tours through their wonderland.
I mostly enjoy sci-fi and fanstasy model kits, including Gunpla, but I also like to collect muscle cars and hotrods, at least the scale model kind anyway.
I work as a 3D modeller & Animator but I like to get my hands on something more tangable every now and then.
Kia ora! Welcome! I spent the better part of '07 living and working in the Blockhouse Bay and Avondale neighborhoods of Auckland - very nearly decided to immigrate myself! Beautiful country and truly wonderful experience! Glad to have you aboard!
When you say you like 3D modeling, do you mean sculpting and drafting with a program and then printing your work with a 3D printer? You might start getting a lot of requests [;)] I look forward to seeing your builds!
I work as a 3D modeller and animator for an ad agency mostly making TV commercials.
But I’m am hoping to get my hands on an FDM printer sometime this year so I can start printing some of my personal creations. One day I hope to have a workshop setup with both FDM and SLA printers for all kinds of prototyping and fabrication fun
Welcome to the Forums JedZed! Glad to have you aboard.
I’ve been building models for 71 of my 77 years. Favorites are WWI & WWII planes followed by sailing ships. Also build anything that strikes my fancy and my wallet says OK.
Looking forward to seeing your work. Hope you enjoy it here.
