?? Kfir warloads, 1982 Lebanon ??

I just stumbled upon an old ESCI 1/48 kit of the Kfir at one of my local hobby shops for a reasonable price (read better than I’ve seen final prices on Ebay). Needless to say, since the wife was not around, I snatched it up. I’ve dug through all my references on this bird and the one thing lacking is warload information. Specifically, I plan on building it in the scheme/markings used during the 1982 campaign in Lebanon. What sort of ordinance, and on what hardpoints, was typically carried on missions during that fight? Also, aside from the Hasegawa sets, what other sources of these weapons are out there? Thanks in advance[swg]

Anyone??? Bueller?.. Bueller… [:-^]

I can’t help with the weapon loads but I remembered something about problems with the old Esci kit. I did a bit of searching and found a site that has more info. I realise it refers to a build as an F-21A but I think the comments about the errors still apply.

Hope this helps.

thank you Davros, this will definitely help with the build.

Typically, the Kfir C2/C7 operated with the F-4E in the SEAD role (supression air defenses). The C2/C7 were limited to “dumb bombs”, using the Mk. 82 500 lbrs. and cluster munitions. Typical “war load” would be a pair of sidewinders on the far outer pylons, drop tanks on the inner wing pylons, and 6 Mk.82 on a long ejector rack on the centerline pylon. I believe the C7 would also occasionally use a “shoulder” pylon (underneath the air intakes) for additional munitions. Hope this helps. Post pictures [:P] Frank

FJ,

Thank you very much! I understand that Shafrir/Pythons were usually carried from my refernces, but the Mission/iron bomb load is what I was looking for. Thanks a bunch. I will post photos as it happens.
