Keeping Verticals Vertical?

Hi All,

I,'ve been working on the Trumpeter HMS Dreadnought. Although I’m almost finished with it I need to say that I had a lot of difficulty keeping the supports for the various deck levels at a 90 degree angle. My question, for my own future reference is, how do you make sure vertical supports stay straight at a 90 degree angle? Or do you just (like I did) get them “close enough” and then move them with pins, toothpicks or whatever into their locator holes.

Hi David:

What I did may seem foolish to some .I have four sets of Triangles and squares .They were made very small .This way I can make sure of what you are worried about . These things are very tiny but work and I make sure I have a tight fit when I am doing it . T.B.

Funny, I thought I had replied.

Only add that it’s important to build the model on a stand once you get the hull painted. That gives you a reference datum.
