Thats better.

wow, real cool pics, thanks for sharing

[:D] cool pics,very cool.[:D]

If memory serves me right, these are from the cancelled Crusader program, right?

Very cool pics, thanks for sharing them! [:D]

That second pic looks really neat. Kind of looks like he’s shooting at a wingy-thingy. LOL

Crusader right ? Kool gun but way exspensive . They did say the same think of the abrams tank way back in the late 70’s if I am not correct , but that seems to have worked out pretty good for our fighting men ! This is supposed to be able to keep up with our ever faster infantry and tanks , very high rate of fire as well !

wow it looks pretty cool. i like the shell just coming out of the barrel.

I thought you guys would like the pics, and you’re all right on target about the weapons system. thought you’d like the change from my armor projects. “LOL”

I think the Crusader also used rocket assisted rounds, which may account for the spectacular shots of the shell exiting the barrel. Either way, those are definitely wallpaper worthy.

the neat little plumes of smoke that are in the first big plume (closest to the barrel) may be due to the riffling in the barrel. (correct me if I mispelled riffling)

BTW-

SWEEET pics yw18mc!!! thx for postin 'um

I want to know what that poor Drag car guy did to have these guys shoot at hime through his brake 'chute in the first pic…

A couple of diorama ideas there!

Nope, the Crusader was originally designed to use a liquid propellant. That didn’t work, so they went to a standard powder bag propellant. All howitzers emit smoke and flame at the moment the round exits the tube (see the G5 photo above). Rocket Assisted Projectiles (RAP) can be fired by any howitzer as well. The Crusader would have been a great weapons system. Too bad it was cancelled. The M109A6 is a great system too, but has taken the M109 series to its limit, M109 was originally designed in late 1950s. M109A6 is too slow to keep up with current vehicles, i.e. M1A1/A2, M2A2, and even M113A3. Also, most of our opponents in the world can outrange the M109A6. We need a new artillery system. Maybe some congessman or his staffer scan FSM for opinions and will take notice. Well, maybe not.

How did you model that muzzle blast so well?!?
