apologise (right Spelling?[:I][
]), for not having much to add to this wonderful forum when it comes to modeling tips etc.etc.
I know that I sometimes have some odd questions about this or that when it comes to aircrafts and so on.
You don’t know how much I really appreciate all your helpful answers, and sooner rather than later I hope that I can put them in practice.
Just looking at all you guys fantastic photos of your marvelous models during building, and finished ones of course, really inspire me, hopefully one day I’ll be just as good as the rest of you.
In the the meantime I hope that you have patience with me and my questions till that I can give my own tips and advices to you (like if I could ever give you any tips and advices, eh?[:D])
Till next time folks,
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH.

Jan, all I can say is this site is a great big tent, and it holds modelers of every possible level, from beginners to masters. I consider myself in the lower middle class of this bunch, and I’ve been doing it for more than four decades off and on. I think I am a better teacher than modeler, like most music teachers who can create good musicians, but will never be great ones themselves. But I never stop trying to get better and better at it, stretching what skills I’ve got til something breaks. So don’t be shy about jumping in.
Jan,
No worries. You chime in when you have time and when you want to contribute. No input is too small or insignificant.
Jan,don’t feel humble at what you see.We all have our share experence and our share of beginnings. You will find that we are all in the same boat and rowing. You also will have experences that will help even the best of us.So welcome aboard and have some fun.If we were all profesionals,we would not be working a job to support our hobby. Digger
jan i agree with the above. we are all in the same boat. there are a few on this site who are qualified to be called masters of this hobby. but the majority of us are just trying to learn. learning is the bigest thing we do here.
joe
Joe is right; there are some real masters here, but they all started out just like you and me, Jan.
Here here I second that twice. There is no such thing as an amature in my book, only learners. Welcome to the place that will kick your modelling butt in gear… it certainly did mine [;)]
Jan. I think most of us feel inadequate at one time or another, but that is what is so wonderful about this forum! We have such a super bunch of people here who care about the hobby, and care about helping each other to over come any modelling problems we encounter. You’d be surprised how many of us fall into the average modeller catagory, and I’ve been doing it for many years off/on. Enjoy your time here on the forums, and learn from those who can teach. One day it could well be you who has the answers and suggestions for becoming a better modeller. All your questions are welcome, and could well be the one that someone wanted to ask, but could not find the words to express it. semper fi, mike
hey janswede im new too and im in the same situation as you so I also hope i can help
Jan,
Ditto’s on what’s been said, and never forget that we all learn something new every time we sit down to build; when I stop learning, I stop modeling. Jump in with your observations and never be hesitant about asking questions… we’re all going to be curious for the answers as well! (and will probably be asking you some as well!)[:)]
Take good care,
Frank
You don’t need to be an expert to be able to post an encouragement to a fellow modeler!
I for one is not an expert on anything. I just build for fun. I ask questions when I have to and I praise others work when I feel to.
Let’s take it a day at time…learn and just have fun with this stuff.
Jan,
Hey, brother - we all start off somewhere - nobody was born with the skills to build the perfect model.
We all know you’ll be up to speed, answering questions, and helping others sooner than you think!
Don’t worry at all about asking questions - we’re all here to help each other. Ask AS MANY questions that you feel you need to ask to advance your skills as a scale modeller - and we’ll all be happy to help in any way we can - as many times as you need us to. It’s what we’re all here for!
I think the same way sometimes…that all I do is get help and never contribute. But I agree with what everyone has said…we’re all brothers (and sisters!) here and we all started in the same place. Have fun…it’s a hobby!
John
Many thanks mates!
I’m proud to call all of you on this forum my friends. I know that when I get as good as you, I’ll help other new members on this forum as much as you have helped me.
Brothers and sisters like you is what makes this hobby so great.

Aaaaawwww!! Shucks!!! [:I][:I][(-D]
That’s the whole idea. You’ll probly end up helping me sometime, either with models (I don’t build many aircraft) or maybe even with travel plans (someday I want to get to visit the ancestral home).
