Just seeing if I can work out how to post pics - LVTP7a

Okay, following the tips on the FAQ, I get this hypertext link to the web page LQ and Dwight convinced me to set up.

Now will one of you very kind Ladies or Gentlemen tell this web illiterate dope how to get the pictures to show up direct in the forum so you don’t need to go to the separate web page?

Oh yeah. Some of you may remember my tale of woe, as to my wife accidentally flipping my LVTP7A on the floor some months back. Well the resultant jigsaw puzzIe has been put back together after i was encouraged to do so by some of you guys.

I recently finished rebuilding the main hull (internal detail is still to go) and I gave it another coat of paint to cover the filler used to blend in the cracked (stomped on by my 3 year old) hull, etc. Here are a couple of pics I took as an experiment with my new digital camera. Colour is off due to the low light, but I’m still getting practice.

As you can see, too much superglue and paint in the air intake mesh; they are no longer see through grills. Had hells own trouble getting them to stick down again, and the glue must have run rampant. Becasue the glue is clear and the mesh was black on Dark green, I didn’t see it until now. If the wash don’t fix that, I’m going to have to rip it off and do it again. I’m sure this kit doesn’t want to get finished, ever.

Let me know what you think.

good comeback for the repair

right click on your pic, copy the url address, then paste it in a message between the following HTML code (without any spaces in them and between them and the address!)

and you’ll get this!

Looks pretty good to me so far. A touch too much paint over the mesh, though. But a wash will fix that.

The ‘X’ was not what I expected… LOL

Mmmm… should have worked. Try to post your pics onto Ron’s gallery (see the sticky message in the General Modeling Discussion Forum). I think some servers’ pictures do not show up here…

Sorry!

Im getting xs on the preview too. Anyway, great looking LVTP so far, Petbat.

Some of the finest looking Red - X’s I’ve ever seen though !!!

Does geocities allow photo linking ???

So far so good, petbat. Can’t wait to see it weathered.

PS… I like the title of the page [:D]

Looking good so far. Thanks for the links Peter.

Bummer on the glue guy.
I wouldn’t give up on the build. It may take awhile, but it will be worth it. The rest of the build looks solid, so do what it takes to fix those screens.

Nice start on a clean build.

Pete: I copied the pics to ron’s gallery. This will make it easy for us to link it here to the forum for the guys to see:

Here they are:

Nice job on the repairs![;)]

Thanks for the comments so far people. Don’t be too gentle, I have a big head already and need to be dropped down a peg or too. Remember I’m an Aussie, and taking the mickey out of each other is one of our national past times.

Gee, DJ. That model of a ‘red ex’ is fantastic, just like the real thing (LOL). Don’t you hate it when a plan doesn’t come together. Thanks anyway.

Thanks for posting the pics for me Dwight. Will have to use Ron’s site to host I guess. Maybe FSM could put all this up under it’s own little segement in the FAQ page. Then there wouldn’t be post like mine every coupla weeks.

Eric. My call sign is just the first 3 letters of my first and last name, but hey my wife thinks it’s cute. Natural progression was the bat’s in the belfry. Do you like the little pic? I thought the page needed something more than the basic quick build template offered. The title bar pic is a cut, paste and clean up of a couple of plagerised pics (hope I don’t get in trouble), but I liked it. If you go to my home page

it’s still under construction, you will see a larger pic. My two older boys tell me it is good likeness of me! Guess Santa ain’t coming to them this year.

Sherm, I know that LQ uses Geocities, so I expected to be able to post like he does. I’ll have to ask him how he does it after he comes back from his OP.

As to the LVTP, I think I’ll just do the screens again. Need to find some more mesh first, as the bits I have left are too small. The pics need improvement, but I think the detail will show up better after a wash. These pics don’t show the weld beading, or hatch details too well at all and that took ages to get right. Bye for now.

No problem, Pete.
