i envy you armour guys as i’ve not a clue…where to begin.
ggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr…
great stuff edog
Wow, Eric, I love those 3 kits…the weathering is fantastic.
Regards, Dan
Well done Eric and a very nice web site you have there [tup][tup][tup]
HEY,
I like that last one. But then again, ive always liked mobile artillery. Anyway, nice build.
Randy
Excellent job! I like how you faded the paint. Very inspiring, I have to start finishing some of mine up.

Eric,
looking good!
i had a question abt the rubber on the IV,
but a visit to the site has kept my mouth free of foot!
i still think they will need a hint of rubber & grey here and there
to carry off the dusty effect.
love the Wespe.
glad you put the makers & subjects on your site.
as well as the mini-reviews.
thanks for sharing & congrats on wrapping some up!
that sound you just heard was my jaw hitting the floor. awesome job.
joe
That looks great. Tell me what colotr do you paint the tracks and with what do you weather them. Also tell me all the steps you did with the tracks. Awsome job on the models. Love them!!!
Very nice builds.
Hey Edog,
GREAT Website. I just devoured your painting description and think I’ll give it a try. I’ll also be picking up those two copies of the Tamiya Model Magazine as soon as I can.
love the streaky effect you did on your builds, looks very authentic, I do have to agree with Ed’s comments on the rubber. Nonetheless, nice stuff.
Just an awesome webpage Eric. I now have it in my favorites log. thank you for sharing your work it needs no criticism. semper fi, mike
[:D] great pics and a great website, keep up the great work.[:D]

Good work edog. I would give those roadwheels a bit of color on the Pz IV as well as sag those tracks on the Wespe a bit. Great paint jobs and weathering overall!! Thanks for sharing.
Cheers
Mo
Nice work on all three! The pzIV has an interesting two tone contrast, are the lighter colors on the running gear and lower hull meant for weathering/dust/mud? (Edit: Just read the site and question answered!)
Nice site as well, thanks for sharing! Particularly like the Stug III and the M-10. Have you experimented with pastels or weathering powders instead of painting for the dust effects? If not, I recommend them highly as it allows the underlying detail and painting to show through while still achieving the desired effect.
Thanks to everyone who has commented. All feedback it much appreciated. I hope you enjoyed the pics.
cirikili, trust me, if I can do it, anyone can… I’m sure it wont be long before you are turning kits out just as good or even better than mine. Just stick with it and think of every kit you build as an opportunity to learn new techniques.
wildwilliam, I agree with you about the road wheels, they just don’t look right. Thanks for the feedback, I love to hear what works and does not work for both my models and the site.
T-34, I always paint my tracks Tamiya Red Brown. I might mix in a little red or orange to mix things up a bit. Once the Red Brown has set up I drybrush the tracks with Tamiya Chrome Silver. That’s all there is to it…
bbrowniii, glad to hear someone finds my website useful. Please let me know if you have any questions and keep me up to date on how things work for you. I would love to hear how some of my suggestions work for other people and if I need to elaborate more on certain things.
Tigerman, yup the road wheels need to have the rubber painted on, but it was worth a try. Thanks for the feedback.
Moses, the tracks are not going to get any sag because they are the kit rubber band type and are already stretched to the limit. I agree with you about the road wheels, it just looks like something is missing. Thanks for the comments.
wbill, yes the lower hull was sprayed with Tamiya Buff to simulate dust.
Once again, a big THANK YOU goes out to everyone who has commented!![:D][:D][:D]
Wbill, I missed your edit while I typed out a response. To answer you question, no I have not tried weathering powders yet. They are next on my list of “must try out”. As soon as I get some funds I will be ordering some pigments. I have seen others getting great results using them and cant wait to give them a try.
Edog,
I’ve had great success with MMP powders combined with artist (hard) pastel chalks. The MMP can be applied wet as washes (thin) and for muddy application (thick) or dry to simulate dust or fading. Very versatile if you have a good selection of brushes to play around with as they can be applied over acrylics or enamels without endangering the underlying paint. I’ve even used them in combination with underlying misted airbrush coats to give a wet/dry or old/new comparison with a nice result.
Hi ya edog …
Outstanding … [bow] … thanks so much for sharing … [swg]
