Just got a tip on silvering

So the question now I have is this. What do I need to soften up and remove the old decals? Gonna get another sheet, and start over after I wax the surface up.

Then comes the dull coat. Recommendations on what to use over the top of a Future wax coat to regain the desired dull finish?

Thanks, all for your input. I appreciate it all and have learned a lot since joining.

Gotta get some more pictures uploaded!!

you can use micro set to remove decals i believe. I know that swanny uses an acrylic based flat coat. However i used a rattle can flat coat. So i guess the best thing you can do is experiment! happy modeling

There are many good acrylic clear flat coats. Most of them are mentioned in this post:

Unless you have a heavy top coat, you can simply remove the decals with scotch tape applied over the decal & pulled off. For a clear flat top coat, I prefer Polly Scale clear flat acrylic.
