Just got a compressor off "evil Bay"... now for the airbrush...

[:O] After 4 days of looking, comparing prices and re-assessing my non-existant funds I finally put in a bid and got an air compressor.

Ebay Compressor item won

It should be more than adequate for air brushing with the added bonus of being able to be used to do a few other things.

I feel quite happy with the price as I got it new for A$63 where 2 days ago 1 was sold for A$101 and the previous one to that for A$140 from the same seller. According to the sources…this model is retailing for A$250.

  • TANK CAP- 25 LITRES

  • COMPRESSOR- NOT OILESS

  • MOTOR POWER- 2.5HP

  • CAPACITY- 206 L/MIN

  • WORKING PRESSURE- 115 PSI

  • AIR INLET- 1/4"

The airbrush I’m looking at has…

  • Precision Machined Airbrush Pen
  • Dual Action - Internal Mix
  • Needle & Head size 0.25mm
  • Metal Cup: 9cc
  • Feed Type: Gravity
  • Working Pressure: 15-40PSI
  • Solvent resistant seals and packing
  • Spray Pattern 0.25mm-20mm
  • Wrench
I checked feedback from the seller with identical items and all people seem happy.

Does this airbrush seem ok? Seems to have what I want and what seems required.

Ebay airbrush looking at getting

Once I get the basics…I better take some good advice and get a respirator. I’m hoping once everything arrives it will occupy me for at least 4+ months as this is how long it will tke to pay off my credit card at the moment.

That gravity feed brush sounds nice for details, but what about for big paint jobs. If I were you, I’d save a little more money up and get that airbrush, plus a cheaper brush that has a color cup so you can tackle those large projects without having to refil every 5 seconds

I was thinking about that… a 1:48 b-29 might require a fewe top ups on the larger areas.

Some larger detail areas make those small bottled and jars of paint look a bit on the stingy side of puny.

Take a look at http://www.dixieart.com they have some very nice prices on a lot of different airbrushes and offer very good service.
