I’ve been alittle intimidated by all the Great pics I’ve seen posted here. This is my 1/72 Testors F15C with Super Scale decals, hand painted with ModelMasters enamels over coated Dulcoat laquer. I was assigned to the 57FIS in 1989 as a DCC (dedicated crew chief). My jet was 0033 but as I was also engs., I spent alot of time on all the jets. I was lucky enough to get 0042 assigned to me after she was transfered to Tyndall. Thanx for lettin’ me share. Bob

Looks great to me. I was always either on training base with nothing much but training aircraft or someplace with no aircraft. I was Security Police so had lots of opportunity to wander out to flightline. Also Bob

Hand-painted, did you say…??? Wow! Superb work, Bob. Anymore like that one???

Very nice Eagle! Makes me want to break out that Academy kit I picked up awhile back… I always worked around the Tomcats and Hornets, but never got to play with the 15’s.

Great job!

Great work ! I never get results like that with a brush. The subtle change in the camo is very well done. And a Testor’s kit at that ( I never had much luck with theirs ) Absolutely no reason to be intimidated with models that look like that !

very nice…modelmaster seems to produce very fine paints then…PLUS the skill of the hand of course!!!

Just curious Bob, having never been near one of these except at Pennsacola naval museum, whats it like? How loud are they? How fast on takeoff. I am absolutely enthralled.

i can tell you that they are really huge…and loud…seen them in the UK at an airshow.
Money shortagedue to the olympics prevented us of getting 40 of these a few years ago we went with the conformal tanks F-16s instead and rejecting 40 A-10 at a good price …Funny thing I had just finished a F-15 in ghost camo like our F-16s when the news of the final selection broke through…looked reallly cool…oh well better luck next time…

Hi nsclcctl, the F15 is a Great acft to work. It’s hard to describe the RUSH of a “REAL WORLD ALERT LAUNCH” time from pilot in the seat to take off 5 minutes. Decible levels are high, from the high pitch whine at idle, to the filling rattling roar at full burner. Not as loud as a F111 or F14 though. I also did engine maintenance runs, could only take one eng at a time to power, it’s great feeling each stage of the burners light. The take off speed depends on the loadout, but they’ll definitley cook down a runway. I also want to say THANK YOU to EVERYONE for your supporting words I’ll see if I can dust off a few of my others and git some pics. THANX, Bob

Bob, that F-15 is fantastic![bow][bow][bow] To produce a model of that quality by hand painting in enamels is a mark of great skill.[^]
I take my hat off to you sir[4:-)] great job.

Can’t wait to see more of your work[:)]
