just an idea that i am brewing

i know that there are loads of group builds going on at the moment but what about something a little different? most of us like nose art because it makes our models a little more interesting but what about a tail art build? there are quite a few aircraft out there with pics decorating their tails, i’m not talking unit markings like the red wolf on the wolfpack F14’s but more like the personal markings or comemorative schemes (i’m sure Blackwolf has a stack of these sort of pics he can share if he’s willing (ya listening Wolfie? [:D] ) i’m not talking starting a group build right now, i’m just “testing the water” so to speak.
over to you guys, wadaya think?.

Sounds like fun. The selection will be limited, compared to nose art, but there should be plenty enough to go around. I can think of a couple of P-40’s that would be interesting.

The annual Canadian Forces 410 Sqn F-18 airshow birds have some posibilities. Several schemes are available in 1/72 or 1/48 decal sheets. Searching the web will bring some results.

that does sound like fun. not sure if decals are available or if painting is the only option though. would be an interesting build.

well, if this G.B is a go i have found my subject, i’ll be building my first F16 in about 20 years (that was a 1/72 Monogram F16XL that i started converting to a B model - now sat in a box minus undercart and canopy), its got some rather “colorful” but tasteful markings on the tail, just got to get hold of the decals from someplace.
later.
