Just to show that I have not turned my back on the darkside recently. This is what I have been up to. Wanted to do something I could get dirty after finishing up the fire truck the other day so this is what came out it’s box.
wow, i have never tried individual tracks yet, but all those must be hard. how come on the 1st pic there is no paint but tracks, but on the second there is pain, but no tracks. and don’t worry about turning your back on the darkside, you can never leave it…
This is the first time I have attempted them. The instructions were not very helpful since they just showed them as one whole assembly that you just slide right on the vehicle. Don’t think it works that easy. Kind of a learn as I go type thing, seem to do those alot.
As far as the paint and the tracks, I did it like that to confuse the mind of a young gun, and it worked! [:D] Actually it’s just how they wound up in it. That and had to take a break from the tracks between sides, so I painted some, since there is plenty of that to do as well.
Wo! That looks like a fun one! Is that the Karl or the garett? I would like to build one, but my skill is not so good. And it is very pricey. I am definetly looking foreward to seeing the finished model.
Oh, is it OOB? And how long have you been working on it.
Guess I could have clarrified that huh. Not to good at the details sometimes. It is the Dragon “Loki” garet 54cm gun. Other than the tracks, it’s a pretty simple build. Lots of large pieces and not really that many small ones. I put the four main sections of it together in about 2 hours or so. Another hour or so on the road wheels, and alot of time just spraying paint. Lots and lots of paint. I am doing it OOB, since the kit was free, did’nt see any point in buying any AM stuff for it. It does come with a fret of PE, allthough I have yet to find anything on the instructions for most of it.
Looks good Chris. I know your frustration with individual links but they’re usually worth the effort in the end. Be sure and post us some finished pics, you’re doing a nice job. semper fi, mike
Thanks guys. There is going to be a third color yet to be added. if I wind up with today off as well it should be there by days end. Hopefully that and the other sides tracks.
I have a Loki also, but it’s still in the box waiting for its turn. Love your camo job.
I started the summer doing some work on Stuart details, but then my Trumpeter T-34/76 showed up (followed by a T-34/85) and I’ve been in 1/16 scale heaven ever since![:p]
