Just a few thoughts - Building the Revell Ju-52 1:48 scale

Building the Revell Ju52 1:48 scale. Bought it because it figures in the war film ‘Where Eagles Dare’. I’m 90% through. Just have the cockpit and decals to do. It’s been sitting on my table for about 2 months now. Waiting…for what? Hmm, there’s 2 things I hate the most in model building: airplane cockpits and photo-etch, oh and I almost forget the articulated tank tracks with multi parts.
I think that’s it. Could this be why I stopped? There’s no phot tech I mean come on. Maybe i just need a break, probably. It’s a weird feeling. Usually every morning I spend some tim at the model bench, now no. Hmmmm I started fixing up my model table, I have lots of stuff all over the place, maybe I should do that, clean up my building space. The junkers looks really good. But what do you do when you’re either fed up or scared to attack a particular part of model building like photo etch or aircraft canopies. I pretty much know it’s not going to turn out good. It’s weird.

Anyways thanks all
Rob

I do a different, less complicated model. But I’m also a little twisted in that my favorite part of the build is the cockpit.

@Trebor357 I have been there a few times over the years. I have tended to do as you suggest, cleaning up my work bench, but that only takes me so far. I will then find something else to work on. Whether that is another kit or a woodworking project, or gardening, or a ball game, anything to get me going again on something else.

Trebor357, I’d put the model to the side for the time being until YOU feel that you’re ready to attack that cockpit or decals. As Viper said to Maverick in the first Top Gun movie,“Better to retire and save your aircraft than to push a bad situation.” BTW how are you going to get those decals to "snuggle"down with the corrugated skin of the Ju-52? Good Luck Rob.
