Is it possible to get “spare” parts from Dragon without having a specific. Example, thier new Abrams, it is the first to offer the ACCURATE clear wheel centers for the road wheels. i have two Tamiya kits in the closet and would love to get a few sets for them.
i doubt they would send it to you for free, for any reasons, but you could ask if you could purchase them and not say the reason. if they ask…umm… either tell em the truth or say that your friend stepped on em. [:D]
I have not worked with Dragon that much, but Hasegawa, which is now in join operation (at least the distributors of the US branch are) with Dragon, was very nice about it. I had a friend in third grade who gave me this 18 year old F-16C and the fuse was completely messed up.
Since Hase distributors in Calif. didn’t have any at the time, they imported a new set for me directly from Japan, and the import cost, shipping from Calif. to Ohio, and the parts all added up to 10 bucks. I was expecting like 20 when they said that they needed to import them.
I emailed Dragon about spare parts once. I had the kit number and the sprue number, as well as the date of purchase. I never got a reply. This didn’t upset me too much because I found the missing pieces, but still… At any rate, you need the kit number and which sprue the parts you want are on. You have to buy the whole sprue, which sometimes gets pricey, but no more so than aftermarket parts.

www.dragoncare.com is the official customer support website. Have you treid that yet?
What I would like would be the correct one piece, ie; rubber, tracks for the two M1A1’s I have. They are both the older style track blocks and don’t jive with modern M1 tracks. One kit is Academy and one Tamiya, both reboxed for the OIF conflict, but with the wrong tracks. Grrrrr!! Get it right, or don’t even bother updating the box art!

[#ditto] That’s why I don’t buy any Panzer IV from Tamiya, the hull from the old one s****d and is probably reused
I have used Dragoncare in the past, and the service was very good.
At least it isn’t Marco Polo anymore. It took them three weeks to get one part,to find out it had been sitting on the clerk’s desk for two weeks!(he actually said, over the phone,"Oh,here it is!)[:(!][censored][banghead]
Ha. That’s funny. But I would agree, DragonCare is very good, I once ordered just the card with the PE and stuff from them. You’ll usually get an answer within a few hours.
I didnt think the Abrams tracks had changed all that much. In any case AFV Club made a set of Abrams tracks, they are pretty good
