"Jungs holt fast" ?

Hi All,

I’m finishing up Tamiya’s Stug III and one of the decal options includes “Jungs Holt Fast!” on the back of the tank. Google translates this as “Young gets nearly” which doesn’t seem quite correct - or is it? What exactly is the meaning and significance of this? Also, did this appear on a single tank or on all of the tanks in the unit? If anyone knows about this, please let me know.

By the way, the Stug is almost done - I’ll post some progress pics soon.

My German is very rusty (although it is one of the official languages in my country), but I would translate it as “Hold on men”, I suppose that decal comes somewhere near a handle or something ?

Perhaps it is supposed to be a form of encouragement for those Panzergrenadiers following on foot?

Anyway, I’m sure the word “fast” meens tight. So my earlier translation schould have been more like “Hold tight, young men”

Thanks – The decal appears to be more of a slogan and is written across the back. I actually found a photo of a tank with this from a museum in europe. Here is the link to the photo:

I’m curious as to whether this appeared on many tanks in the unit or just this particular one and if perhaps it was just some kind of encouragement to the troops.

The museum photo is of a restored StuG that was inspired by the actual photo and Tamiya kit. I’ve seen the b/w photo somewhere but don’t recall where. Perhaps it was the individual crew or perhaps the slogan was applied at a small unit level. There’s no evidence of widespread usage (or even more than once!)

Ja, mein deutsch ist nicht so gut, aber, dan cooper ist richtig(ich denke)…

danke dass sie sich fur burger king entschieden haben!
