I’ve been searching everywhere for a decent illustration of a standard factory 70/71/65 splinter camo scheme for a Ju-88. Does anyone have an instruction sheet or good profile picture of the standard Ju-88 scheme? I would really appreciate it. The kit’s instructions I’m building doesn’t show that scheme. I’m ready to mask off the splinter camo to apply the Black Green, but I haven’t found a good reference for the scheme yet, just so-so illustrations.
Try this Site. You’ll have to find the model and serial number, then click on the “Page” on the far right, and then pick the particular image. Some are better than others.
Yes, that is a very good site. I had checked that place out. Unfortuntely, the only overhead views they have for the Ju-88 aren’t of the standard splinter scheme. [sigh]
That is exactly what I was looking for!! The pattern is definately what I was looking for. But I got a big question. The RLM 70 and 71 are flip flopped from what I have been able to find. Which do ya’ll think is right?
If the pattern is what you are looking for but, your references show the colors swapped. Then I would use the pattern and swap the colors. Just my opinion.
Actually, I’m not too happy with the job I did on the nose section and canopy. I think I may have to redo that part. It’s driving me nuts that I think I did it wrong.
If you’re unsure about mask pattern placement, do what I do with camo patterns, I scan the pattern diagram, enlarge it to 1:48 scale, (or whatever scale you’re working in), print it out, then cut the shapes out and trace around these on my masking tape, to cut my friskets. It’s pretty fool-proof.
